AMPLIFY YOUTH

Amplify is the youth group at RCC. It is for Middle and High School students grades 6th-12th, and meets every Sunday morning directly following the time of opening worship and prayer. Amplify is a fun time of digging into God’s word together, conversation, games, snacks and more!

In addition to the Sunday morning class, there are occasional special events throughout the year, as well as opportunities to get involved with community outreach and service projects. Amplify is currently lead by volunteers Amanda Wagner and Abbey Bales.

RISE KIDS!

The Children’s Ministry at RCC is a vital and special part of our church family and one that is important to the future of the body of Christ in every way. These Sunday School classes are designed for toddlers up to 5th grade and are a safe and wonderful time of learning and activity.

RCC Kids classes take place directly after the opening worship and prayer in the sanctuary, and parents can pick up their kiddos from the classrooms immediately after main service. Our Children’s Ministry leaders are Rosie Brough and Hannah Parsell. We are always looking for volunteer assistance in these classes, and are also currently seeking volunteers to serve in our growing nursery room.

WOMEN'S Ministry

Rise & Shine is an extension of the RCC Women’s Ministries, serving as the basis of special events and get-togethers throughout the year. From outings to fun locations to coming together to work on service projects supporting local non-profits, these times are special and foundational.

Rise & Shine’s meaning is rooted in Matthew 5:14-16 where it says: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Amanda Wagner currently serves as point person for Rise & Shine.

MEN'S Ministry

Another important part of RCC is the Men’s Ministry Fellowship. The anchor of this ministry is our Men’s Breakfast, which meets on the second Saturday morning of each month at 730AM, typically held at the church, however, on occasion will meet at the Marion Bob Evans.

Men’s Breakfast is a great time of conversational fellowship, devotionals, prayer, and of course great food! When held at the church, Elder Bill Hansen serves as cook, and faithfully prepares a great meal each month. The Men’s Ministry Fellowship also helps in various areas of need both in the church and out in the community. The core scripture for the Men’s Ministry Fellowship is Proverbs 27:17, which says: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Get involved!

At RCC, we have several opportunities to get involved with serving in outreach to our city.

We have ongoing ministry partnerships with Luke 3:11 Ministries, taking collections for Peanut Butter & Jelly Truck (creamy peanut butter, applesauce cups, and assembling prep kits for driving teams) and Lumpy Loads Of Laundry (collecting empty, rinsed-out laundry detergent bottles to be refilled with homemade detergent to give to needy families).

We also work alongside the Heart Of Ohio Homeless Shelter, Aspire Ministries, Voice Of Hope Pregnancy Center, and Royal Family Kids Camp, just to name a few.

We also have special events at the church, as well as in our city. From special “Nights Of Worship” led by the RCC Worship Team, to hosting Christian concerts at featuring local and nationally recognized artists, RCC is always looking to help grow the creative arts community in our city in the name of Jesus.

Over the course of the last few years, RCC has welcomed groups like Seventh Day Slumber, Mat Baird, About A Mile, Damac, Whitlee Casey, comedy duo Austin & Leb, and many others. We also partner with Marion-based coffee house The Remnant for special nights of worship known as “Rise Night At The Remnant”. In addition to music, we also host local Craft Shows.

Who We Are…

Pastor - Jeremiah

Jeremiah Wagner has been serving as the pastor of RCC since November 2020. Jeremiah’s pathway to ministry began in the early 2000s, traveling the country as part of a nationally touring Christian rock band, sharing the Gospel with thousands of people across the USA via that platform, as well as through national and international Christian radio. Upon the conclusion of that particular season of life in late 2012, Jeremiah accepted an offer to join the staff at Woodcrest Chapel in Columbia, MO as assistant youth pastor and creative arts coordinator. God’s plan brought the Wagners (Jeremiah, Amanda, & Leelah) back to Ohio just one year later, and it was summer of 2014 that they were led to RCC (then known as Celebration), God has kept them there ever since. From 2016 to 2020, Jeremiah served as worship leader and occasional drummer for the praise team, and also volunteering in behind the scenes roles with events planning and direction. Receiving and answering the call to step into the pastoral role at RCC in November 2020, Jeremiah has been blessed to serve this wonderful and growing church family, working diligently together to bring the love and message of Jesus Christ to the city of Marion, and all who will listen. “It has been the honor of my life be the pastor of RCC, and just being able to witness first-hand all that God has done, is doing, and will continue to do here amongst his people is humbling and inspiring in a huge way. Our family is beyond blessed to call this our home, and to help ensure the spiritual growth of the family being assembled here, as we work to apply that to fulfilling The Great Commission not only in the city of Marion, but across the globe.”

Jeremiah has been married to Amanda since May 24, 2008, and are parents to daughter Leelah, born in 2010. The Wagners reside in Marion, Ohio. Jeremiah’s favorite verses are 2 Corinthians 5:17, Proverbs 29:25, and 1 John 4:19. In his “spare time”, Jeremiah sings and plays guitar in the Christian rock band SafeKept, sings and plays guitar along with his wife Amanda in the duo “Oak & Linden”, and still continues to lend a hand in the RCC worship band, either on drums, guitar, or vocals when needed. He loves watching pro wrestling, WWE in particular, having been a devout fan since the 1st grade, and is also an avid sports trading cards collector. Jeremiah was born and raised in the small northeast Ohio towns of Salem and Columbiana, and attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Worship Leader - Ryan

The RCC Worship Team is a collective of singers, musicians, and behind the scenes volunteers lead by Ryan Bales. Ryan has been serving in the RCC worship team in various roles since 2016, assuming the role of leader in 2019. Having served as a worship leader and musician in different capacities for the better part of the last 15+ years at churches, camps, conferences, and retreats, Ryan brings a wealth of experience, a passion and heart for the people of Marion, a desire to help us all participate in the acts of worship, and connect deeper to Christ through those, as well as with one another. Praise and worship is a vital part of our church body, and sets the tone for what God has in store for the rest of the service and time together.

The song selection ranges from more familiar and current selections, to modern takes on classic hymns. Aside from the full band, more stripped-down acoustic settings are called upon, giving it more of the “coffee house” feel. No matter the amount of instruments or people involved, the RCC Worship Team is dedicated to serving the church in and through the honor of leading us in a time of vibrant and engaging worship and praise, bringing all glory and honor to the Lord.
